Go Remixed
Inpop POD1394
For a band that has been going since 1985, albeit with various line-ups,
these guys show no sign of fading. Considering they won a load of Dove
awards in the 1990s, and many nominations this decade, it is arguable
that they have managed to maintain their brilliance into this album.
In fact 'Go: Remixed' is actually my favourite of all their work, and
even better than the more rocky 'Go' album on which it is based. Although
Tedd T produced the original 'Go' album with Peter Furler the vocalist,
Tedd returns on two tracks to change pop rock into American style dance
tracks, with the support of Lee Bridges, Max Hsu, and Jeff Frankenstein
(keyboards) on their respective tracks. The result is that brilliantly
written tracks have maintained their song structure and Christian message,
but have been given a massive injection of life that turned stadium
rock into an energetic rave. The outstanding track is the St Petersburg
Mix of "Your Love Is Better Than Life" by Superchick's Max
Hsu which manages to build orchestral strings and classical guitar,
with a rock intro, into a dance track with such energetic power that
it could be a song of the year. I certainly prefer it to the 1996 "Shine".
The other tracks don't let down, with the power impacting all the tracks.
