Reflection #1 on "Entertaining Angels" by Newsboys [song lyrics]
|
||||||
So temporary What is permanent? What will really last, no matter what? Well, I know one thing-the lovingkindness of God. "This I recall to my mind, God's lovingkindness toward you and toward me will last longer than time. The Bible tells us that His love for us not only lasts forever, but never fails (1 Corinthians 13:8). He never has a moment during which He ceases to love you and care about you. Even when we sin, He still loves us. "If we are faithless, He remains faithful, for He cannot deny Himself" (2 Timothy 2:13 NASB). God will always keep His part of the covenant. A covenant is a solemn oath that can only be broken by death. And since God will never die, His covenant, His Word, promised to us in the blood of Jesus, can never be broken. In the song "Entertaining Angels," the Newsboys ask if God will "take them back." Well, most definitely, the answer is yes! "For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our LORD" (Romans 8:38-39 NASB). You can be assured that God loves you and He is ready to "take you back" any time you are ready to repent. Turn to Him today, reach out to that love. Let Him guide you and direct your thoughts and actions. He will lead you into a place of fellowship with Himself that even the angels envy. After all, you are His child. --Suzy C.
