We all wear the same wrong
But we're covered by God's Holy One

In the song "Gloria," Paul Colman sings about the things we all have in common. One of those things is sin. The Bible says:

"This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus" (Romans 3:22-24, NIV).

"If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. If we claim we have not sinned, we make him out to be a liar and his word has no place in our lives" (1 John 1:8-10, NIV).

Everybody has sinned. That is the bad news. The good news is that Jesus paid the price for all sin.

"All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting men's sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation" (2 Corinthians 5:18-19, NIV)

Another thing we all have in common is that we all need a Savior. If we think we don't, the Bible says we deceive ourselves. And when we confess our sins, turn our backs on them and ask Jesus to forgive us and be the Lord of our lives, we become children of God. We become part of God's family.
