UP CLOSE WITH THE BAND

How do you summarize a revolution? For Casting Pearls, you speak about the indictment of honesty and the conviction of heart lived out in a love for pure, full-on rock and roll. As you place their newest record into your CD player and press play, you’ll understand that this is a band that aims to make you move and make you think.

Collaborating with Grammy-winning producers Jason Burkum and Nathan Dantzler (Audio Adrenaline, Tree 63, Kids In The Way), their 2005 self-titled record has an immediacy that speaks to popular culture in the here and now. "We wanted to create a record that would speak to our generation exactly where they’re at—that would say to them, and to ourselves, 'Be alive with your whole heart; don’t settle, don’t compromise.'" With songs like "Revolution" and "Wastin' Time", that call is loud and clear.

Casting Pearls recently released their raucous first track "Weighted" to national radio with quick success. Within its fourth week on the charts, "Weighted" came in 15th on the National R&R Christian Rock Music Charts. Adding more support, The American Christian Music Charts chose CP as their top pick from a list of 50 artists with Top 10 Potential.

This newest self-titled offering was recorded in Franklin, TN in a three-week period, which added to the immediacy and force of the record. Two songs, "All About Love" and "Close Your Eyes" were co-written with Grammy-winner Mark Heimmerman (dc Talk), while, "Whole World" was written by, UK songwriter and Dove Award winner, Tim Hughes. Phil Joel of Newsboys also lent his voice to the pop anthems "Alright" and "Wasting Time."

“We had a blast in the studio, an absolute wonderful time. But more than anything, we saw this record take on new direction and new clarity. It’s an offering to our God for something greater, something urgent and meaningful that people have missed. We get caught up in the good things of life—our lifestyle, health, prosperity—but we miss the greatest thing in the process. This album is about drawing attention back to the fundamental need each of us has: to commune with our Creator, our Heavenly Father.” Songs like "You Alone" reflect this paradigm, as they proclaim "I’m letting go, of all that I know, I’m holding on to You alone."

As one of the most successful independent bands in the US, Casting Pearls is coming into its own. Look for the revolution in this newest self-titled release from Nebraska based Casting Pearls.
