Dale Bray Named President of Label
Dale Bray, one of the three original founders of Inpop Records in addition
to Inpop CEO Wes Campbell and newsboys' frontman Peter Furler, has returned
to the company after a five-year hiatus. Bray will take the helm as
president of Inpop Records. Bray's new position is effective immediately.
Bray has spent the last five years in his home country of Australia
heading up Crossroad Distribution and Sonfest Touring Company. In October,
he returned to Nashville with wife, Alice, and two young children.
"The last five years in Australia have been
a great time of growth, both for me personally and in my business ventures,"
he says. "The distribution company, which
represents EMI CMG and Veggietales in Australia, has expanded exponentially
over the last few years, and that has allowed me the flexibility to
come back to Nashville to bring this former relationship full circle,"
says Bray.
Wes Campbell, Inpop CEO and co-founder, says the decision to bring
Bray back into the fold means a solid future and a positive, new direction
for the label.
"Dale has nearly 20 years of experience
in the music industry, and he knows the record business inside and out.
His experience will be key for our continued growth, and we are thrilled
that he will join us again for this new era of Inpop Records,"
Campbell says.
Bray comments, "Inpop has developed into
a major company that continues to grow in market share. Superchic[k]
and Tree63 have garnered incredible radio and retail success, thus laying
a solid framework for Inpop to build on. Looking forward, we'll launch
three new artists in early 2006, and we will also widen our focus to
become a multi-genre label," he says.
